Automation Engineer-LabView

We are Superior Controls, New England's largest independent automation systems integrator, and selected as the "Worldwide Systems Integrator of the Year" by Control Engineering Magazine.  We are currently seeking to add an Automation Engineer to our team in Seabrook, NH.

Primary Purpose:  

Automation Engineer with 3+ years of experience.  Candidate will be responsible for the design, documentation, programming, and testing of automated systems. 

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications and drawings.
  • Read and understand electrical drawings.
  • Development and/or modification of system life cycle documents such as User Requirements Specification (URS), Functional Specification (FS), and Software Design Specification (SDS).
  • Software development (LabView, PLC, Operator Interface, Database).
  • Factory testing and simulation.
  • Site start-up and management.
  • Customer correspondence.
  • Maintaining schedules.


Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

  • Read and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Read and understand control system electrical drawings.
  • Read and understand system life cycle documents such as the User Requirements Specification (URS), Functional Specification (FS), and Software Design Specification (SDS).
  • Familiarity with equipment used in a Biotech facility such as Bioreactors, Mixing Tanks, Filtration Systems, Clean Utilities, and CIP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GaMP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practice (GDP) is a plus.
  • Proficient with LabView.
  • Proficient with PLCs such as Rockwell or Siemens is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of industrial controls experience
  • Must have LabView experience, Rockwell or Siemens PLC experience would be a plus
