Established in 1994, we work in the Life Sciences industry with clients like Genentech, Bayer, and Johnson + Johnson. As a process automation system integrator, we design the automation of manufacturing processes providing control systems with key information presented via user friendly interfaces.

About You

As our Human Resources Manager (HRM), you will manage all aspects of HR. You will play an important role in People and Culture Management, Talent Acquisition, Office Management, and will work closely with the executive management team, reporting to the President. You will have a voice to affect change in our growing company while also benefitting from our stability as a company with 23+ years of experience in this industry.  You need solid technical recruiting experience to contribute to our strong culture and execute our strategic plan of growing the business in the Life Science industry.

You will work out of our Vacaville office while supporting our growth in our new South San Francisco office. Our growth requires a team player who can ensure high levels of organizational effectiveness while not compromising our fun, positive, inclusive culture of collaboration and hard work. We are hoping you can grow with us in this long-term position.

The HRM's responsibilities include organizing and coordinating the general administration function and office procedures, facilitating and coordinating spatial management, serving as project manager for moves and new hires, establishing and maintaining a vendor base, maintaining supplies, and providing overall human resource support to our employees. Previous human resources and office management experience is required. A successful HRM will have experience with a variety of software to include HRIS, ATS, and Microsoft Office tools to seamlessly manage all HR and administrative duties.

Ultimately, the HRM should be able to ensure the smooth running of the office and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operational flow.

Responsibilities

The HRM's duties include, but are not limited to:

Manages all daily Human Resource responsibilities
Ensures compliance with all state, federal regulatory requirements (FMLA, COBRA, AA, ADA, ADEA etc.)
Recruits, interviews and tracks potential candidates for vacant positions
Ensures that all background checks on candidates are performed prior to employment
Coordinates the on-boarding and orientation for all new employees
Administers all benefits and compensation programs, including the performance evaluation process
Advises, coaches and mentors all staff and management on employee relations matters
Organizes and manages the floorplan, operations and HR procedures for Vacaville office
Maintains the office conditions by arranging for necessary repairs
Maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers, including office vendors and HR service providers 
Ensures that office supplies, rest, and break rooms are stocked appropriately at all times
Address employee queries regarding office management issues
Plans in-house or off-site activities, like parties, celebrations, trainings, and conferences
Partners with Corporate HR for guidance on policies, procedures, initiatives, and compliance
Ensures accurate entry of employee file information into payroll and other systems as required
Supervises an administrative assistant/receptionist
Processes employee payroll information:  deductions, changes in employee status, salaries, etc.
Ensures confidentiality of all employee information and records

Requirements

An undergraduate degree in business or human resources , along with 3-5 years of directly related experience
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel , Power Point, Word, Outlook)
Recruiting background in a start-up like environment
Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and proactively recommend solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Creative thinking
Strong organizational, planning, and math skills
Ability to assess and suggest optimal solutions or improvements
