Validation Engineer

We are Superior Controls, New England's largest independent automation systems integrator, and selected as the "Worldwide Systems Integrator of the Year" by Control Engineering Magazine.  We are currently seeking to add a Validation Engineer to our team in Seabrook, NH.

Primary Purpose:
Individual will be a key player in the design, specification, implementation, commissioning, trouble-shooting, and continuous improvement of automation and instrumentation for bio-pharmaceutical production facilities.  As well as work with product care group to review and update system documentation.  Must have understanding of automated systems.

Responsibilities:

Engineering/Documentation Support:

  • Reviews documentation/validation requirements with the Project Engineer
  • Develops required documentation for a work order
  • Reviews documentation developed by Engineering
  • Tracks hours for documentation for a work order (inform management before the hours go over)
  • Maintains schedule of documentation required for Engineering

Engineering Design & Programming Support:

  • Provide support to Engineering for SCADA development, PLC programming, and Design
  • Provide support to Engineering for Factory Acceptance Testing

System Documentation:

  • Review and update in-house system documentation as required
  • Develop and maintain a quantitative approach for estimating documentation hours required for a work order

Project Engineering:

  • Thorough project technical review and understanding (scope, approach, design)
  • Verification of technical approach
  • Project electrical and panel design
  • Drawing review with CAD department and release “for construction”
  • Shop interface for fabrication
  • Develop and release “for purchase” Bill of Materials
  • All programming (controller, operator interface, db, custom, etc.)
  • Factory testing and simulation
  • Site start-up and management
  • Identification and definition of out-of-scope items
  • Customer correspondence
  • Work order documentation
  • Project management (for others if lead engineer on project)
  • Developing and maintaining schedules
  • Hours tracking

Experience Level and Educational Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 5+ years of directly related experience
  • Knowledge of GaMP
